Meet Tara Chatterton....
My name is Tara Chatterton and I love creating color combinations and unique patterns. Beading is a great medium for this, and also satisfies my itch for precision and fine detail. For me, beading is healing and meditative, helping to focus my thoughts and work though any pressing issues that may surface.
I have spent most of my life in the Pacific Northwest, but grew up in Minneapolis, intrigued by the Native American culture there. I learned peyote stitch along with other native stitches early on, from a Native Algonquin woman. It came natural to me as if my hands already knew the medium. I could see how to work with the stitch to create just about anything I wanted, seeing patterns and designs often unfold as I beaded.
I also work as a photographer, a writer and an intuitive healer working with clients to remove emotional trauma and patterning. Art, color and beauty play a role in everything I do and are pivotal to the healing process. I am excited to share this remarkable art form with you in a classroom setting. If interested, please join me for one of my upcoming classes here at Beluga Beads!
Tara will be teaching a beginning and later an advanced Peyote Stitch class, coming up soon in October! (see below)
